エリザベス・ラインでエセックス州ブレントウッドにハイキングに出掛けてきました。

Hiking in Brentwood, Essex on the Elizabeth Line.

リバプールストリートからエリザベス・ラインに乗り換え西へ。

Traveling on a westbound Elizabeth Line from Liverpool Street Station.

ブレントウッド駅で下車。

Getting off at Brentwood station.

森の入口

An entrance to the woods.

初っ端からChicken of the Woodsがお出迎え。

Not long after my entrance, I was greeted by the Chicken of the Woods.

ここにも森の鶏が。

Here is another bird.

切り取られたあと。

Someone had snatched the chick away.

前の日ブリックレーンで買ったベーグルが昼ごはん。

Bagels from Brick Lane made my lunch.

また鶏さん。

ここまで全て乾燥気味の古そうなものばかりだったで採取しなかった。

Found another CoW.

So far all of the chicken I found were too old and dry to harvest, unfortunately.

原っぱに出た。

Out onto a field.

ホグウィードが蕾をつけていた。

もうそんな時期か。

食用に少々採取。

Found some Hogweed blossoms.

Is it already the season for them？

Time flies,  indeed.

I picked some to eat.

お目当てのひとつ、イヌバラの花もあちこちに。

Another thing to harvest on my list: Dog Rose.

I picked some to eat.

Honeysuckle flowers, which I picked for cooking.

エルダーフラワー。

コーディアルにするため少々採取。

Elderflowers.

I picked some to make cordial.

予想外のキクラゲを予想外の木・アッシュの倒木に発見。

通常キクラゲはエルダーの朽木あるいは倒木の上に生える。

Unexpectedly Found Wood Ears on an unexpected fallen Ash tree.

The species is typically grown on dead Elder Trees.

栗林に入ると倒木にChicken of the Woodsが生えていた。

しかしその周りにはこのように白い糸くずのような気味の悪い虫が湧いていた。

こいつらはなんなんだろう？

当然採取は控えた。

All around it were countless of these disgusting white thread like worms.

What could they be?

Needless to say, I refrained from picking it.

Another of the same combo+slugs.

ブルーベルの花期は過ぎて種をつけていた。

The Flowering season for the Bluebell was over.

They have already started to seed.

 ブレントウッド駅に帰着。

本日の歩行距離は約15km。

紫の電車に乗って帰りましょ。

Returned to the station after some 15km walk.

Let's go home on the Purple train.
