A video of a channel by Brian Johnson the vocalist of AC/DC has come up as a recommendation on Youtube.

There was an episode in it where he walks and talks with Roger Daltrey of The Who in my neighborhood.※1

Inspired by it, I cycled around to follow the footsteps of those musical greats.

Acton Town Hall, where the band which would later become The Who played several times in their early days.

This is another grade II listed building.

旧White Hart Hotel。

The Aeronaut, former White Hart Hotel in their early years.※2

They played here often between 1962-63.

It was said that Roger Daltery went to ‘Victoria Primary School’※3.

However, I was unsuccessful in finding an institution by the name on the internet.

Victoria Junior School on Becklow Road, on the other hand,  is in the neighborhood where Daltrey’s childhood home is.

I presume that this, once again a grade II listed building, actually was where he went.

He excelled academically there, while having a reputation of being a rough and tough lad.

He then went to Acton Grammar School, where he met his future band mates Pete Townshend and John Entwistle.

Bush Hall.

This is a well-known music venue in The Who'shometown.

Its history dates back to 1904, when it functioned as a soup kitchen during WWII and in the early 1960s it was a bingo hall and rehearsal studio.※4

The band themselves also rehearsed here.

The guitarist Pete Townshend much later held solo concerts in this venue.  ※5
