I took my hyper-active son who is extremely reluctant to take a nap, out to a nearby park.
In retrospect, it was me who happened to get excited by unexpected joys awaiting us there.
In the middle of the greenspace, a row of Daffodils were found.
They were obviously much smaller than ordinary Daffodils.
Apparently they are a variation of cultivated ‘Miniature Narcissus’ or 'Dwarf Daffodils'.※1
Normal size ‘Wild Daffodils’ in the designated garden in the park.
They are originally a wild species.
I did not expect these to be found here, Wild Garlic!
Judging by the location, it is highly doubtful that they had been planted by the authorities or any other managing body.
Could it be a manifestation of the famous ‘Guerrilla Gardening’ ※2 movement?
Another Wild Garlic colony was found at the back of the park.
It looked closer to their natural habitat under the cover of trees and grasses.
Whether it grows naturally or had been planted and looked after by Guerrilla Gardeners or the authorities is unknown.
To my surprise, I found a quite large bush of Sweet Violets ※3 in the vicinity of the Garlic!

A house by a gate of the park.
Various plants including tomatoes are grown all year round in this nook.
Guerrilla or legal, that I do not know.
A clear as a day example of Guerrilla Gardening found in my neighborhood.
Daffodils have been planted in this tiny space.
「One, Two, Buckle My Shoe」「Hickory Dickory Dock」「Pocket Full of Rye」「
The blog title was quoted from a nursery rhyme, via an Agatha Christie short story.※4
She frequently used Mother Goose songs as titles of her novels, such as
‘One, Two, Buckle My Shoe’ , ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’ and ‘Pocket Full of Rye’.※5
Some Japanese mystery authors such as Yokomizo Seishi followed the tradition.
