It was very windy with patches of rain today.
I braved the weather in order to make the most of the short while before the close season on the Thames in Kingston Upon Thames.

風が強く波が立っている。満潮により道が水没し回り道を強いられることもしばしば。
我が英国生活で初めて帽子を突風で飛ばされた日。

The gales were making the surface of the river wavy.
I was made to take detours around flooded stretches on the path on a few occasions.
This day will be remembered as my first time I had my cap blown off by the gusty wind...
よく見かける桜のような花と樹皮を持つ木。
春の芽吹きを感じる。
緑地では山菜を探してみたが、
まだちょっと時期が早いようだった。
This Sakura(Japanese Cherry) like tree is commonly seen.
Its bloom is a reminder that spring has arrived.
I had a keen eye on any sign of shoots of wild edibles,
which seemed to be a little too early in the season.
本日の釣り場。
今回は待ちの釣りなので、ひたすら座って当たりを待つ。
動かないので、着込んでいても寒さが身にしみてくる。

I yanked it up, only to feel a feeblish resistance.
This is clearly not a typical violent fight put up by the Carp….
