散歩を兼ねて野草摘みに行ってきました。
ロンドンの中心で自然を満喫し、また探し求めていたワイルド・ガーリックに出会えもし、満足!

A pleasant walk along a lake and river, in search of wild edibles.
It was extremely satisfying to breathe fresh air in nature, when I was able to successfully find my first eagerly sought-after Wild Garlic, in the heart of London.

西ロンドン一の繁華街もゴーストタウンと化しています...
Even the busiest area in West London has turned into a ghost town...

橋を渡って隣りの区へ。「２メートルの対人距離を保ちましょう」
Crossing over the bridge to the neighboring borough.

Keep a safe distance.

フキの一種「Winter Heliotrope」。外来種。原産は地中海沿岸だそうな。
Winter Heliotrope, a kind of Butterbur originally from the Mediterranean.

葉を揉んでみると美味しそうな香りが。
When crushed the leaves give out an appetising aroma.

「Green Alkanet」イギリスで最もよく見かける雑草のひとつ。花がきれい。
Green Alkanet, one ot the most common weeds in Britain. The flowers are pretty and apparently edible.

オドリコソウの花 
Flourishing White Nettle.

テムズ川沿いの歩道。
A path along the Thames.

岸辺に咲くニラネギ（three-cornered leek）。原産地はヨーロッパ南西部、アフリカ北西部でイギリスでは帰化植物となっているそうです。
Three-cornered Leek, a naturalised plant originally from South Western Europe and North Western Africa.

美味しい野草だとのことで、少々頂戴してきました。
It is said to be palatable. I picked some to try.

スイバ属の植物。これらは日本では山菜として扱われ、ヨーロッパでも一部の国では食用に栽培されているそうな。
A type of Dock/Sorrel(Rumex). They are a popular sansai(edible wild plants) in Japan and also traditionally cultived in some parts of Europe for culinary purposes.

ラムソン、別名ワイルド・ガーリックの群生地を発見！
食用と栽培のため少々頂いてきました。
I found some gregarious Ramsons or Wild Garlic. I unearthed some to eat and the rest to grow in our garden.

ワイフによる家庭菜園開園。招かれざる客によって荒らされてしまっていますが^^;　外出自粛の憂さ晴らしと食料確保の一石二鳥の策。
Home gardening by the wife, which had been messed up by some unwelcome intruders^^; A solution to frustration caused by life in self-confinement and a source of nourishment. Killing two birds with one stone!
