ロンドン郊外の某河川…

デイスとバーベルを狙っての釣行。

目的のバス停に近づくにつれ下校する学童が増えてきました…童どもは水鳥や犬と同じく釣り人の天敵(^-^;

「釣りしてんのかー？」－子ども１名に声をかけられただけで無事通過、橋の下の人目につかないスポットを発見、腰を落ち着け釣り開始^^

なかなかに釣れそうな雰囲気、魚も時々跳ねています。

ミミズをぶっこんでしばらく待つと、アタリが…何者か、けっこう大きな引き！

しかし合わせが甘かったのか、ジャンプの後、結局バレてしまいました。

３０分ほどしてすっかり辺りが暗くなったころ、またアタリが。

合せるとジャンプして猛烈に暴れまわる！

この暴れ方、デイスではないぞ？

たも網ですくってみると…

…まさか？

なんとそのまさかの、人生初のブラウントラウトが釣れてしまいました。

この魚もスズキみたいにエラ洗い(=エラを広げ身を捩ってジャンプすること)するんですね！

イワナやヤマメのような日本の渓流魚とは違う感覚。

歴戦の強者らしくあちこち創だらけで口には古い釣り針がもうひとつ引っかかっていました。

ロンドンを含むイングランド南西部でトラウトは現在禁漁期。

迅速に針を外し撮影後、丁重にリリース。

元気よく帰って行ってくれました。

事故とは言え夢の釣果に、携帯しているスキットルのジャックダニエルで川辺でひとり祝杯をあげました。

Towards the destination on the bus, school kids started to show up in large numbers...those little Curious Georges could well be anglers' nightmare, along with birds and dogs.

Luckily, I found a hideout to sit and fish peacefully, in a narrow space under a bridge out of sight of my nemeses.

After a while, something snatched my earthworm, putting up some fight before it jumped and broke away.

30 minutes or so later, it struck again, jumping and darting fiercely before I secured the creature in my landing net!

It was not the Dace that I was after, but what was to be My First Ever (accidental) London Brown Trout.

I could see he was a seasoned warrior with scars and marks all over his body, with an old rig hooked in his mouth.

After unhooking and a quick photo shoot, he was released back into the waters in good spirits.

I toasted to the fish with Jack Daniels in my flask on the spot.

WHAT AN EVENING!

初のロンドン・ブラウントラウト、３０ｃｍ！

茶鱒どん、今宵は大変失礼致しました。

しかし古い釣り針を外してあげられたので結果、釣り上げてよかったかな？

また解禁後にお手合わせ願います^^！

Sorry for bothering you during closed season,

but I was happy that I could relieve your discomfort by taking off your old rig.

I am looking forward to our rematch next summer!

川辺の夕べ、足取り軽く帰路に就く。
