As I was driving to the mountains, it started to pour down. On the way, I spotted that the edge of the road had washed away and covered with crumbled mountain soil. I was still going to climb Mt. Komata from Nishisawamata but was forced to come back down at 1111 peak on my way there due to heavy rain.

Despite the adversity, the hike was "fruitful" - I picked loads of Wild Grapes, Wild Kiwi, Mizu and so on to take home and eat.

These Wild Grapes were as big and ripe as those cultivated ones sold in supermarkets.

Matatabi or Wild Kiwi. There are a couple of kinds of them, the most delicious one is called 'Kokuwa', which looks and taste just like cultivated Kiwi. Matatabi tastes too harsh so you don't want to eat it raw but use it to season liquor.
