Over the last few years, I have climbed more than 120 mountains mainly in the Tohoku region.

秋田県阿仁：マタギ発祥の地･根子集落に通じる一車線のトンネル。さながら時空を超えるタイムマシンの趣。
The tunnel leads to Nekko, Ani, Akita, the birth place of 'Matagi' or traditional hunters.
It felt like travelling through time or between different dimentions.

素人ながら、主にソロで遡行容易な沢ばかりへ出掛けています。清冽な渓流と緑燃える深山でイワナと戯れる夏の沢登りは格別(^^)これまで訪れた沢をいくつか紹介します。

A glimpse of some of the mountain streams I have climbed and fished.
Nothing can beat the joy of solitary sawanobori (=stream climbing) combined with fishing, foraging, mountain climbing and camping in the height of the summer^^



憧れの和賀山塊(秋田県)①･羽後朝日岳登頂。
一般的なのはマンダノ沢遡行→ヘナタレ沢下降ですがそちらは敗退、ヘタレなのでヘナタレ沢遡行→マンダノ沢下降と逆ルートをとりました笑　
My Dream Journey in Waga Mountain Range, Akita 1;
There are no trails of any kind leading to the top of the mountain whatsoever.
The route I took required climbing through a spider web of mountain streams to the peak. This takes at least 3 days return.

The route was as follows:
Henatare Mountain Stream→the top of Mt.Ugoasahi→Mandano Mountain Stream(stayed overnight at Jajabuchi waterfall)→Henatare Mountain Stream.

④大雪渓の恐怖一　谷を塞ぐ巨大な雪渓連続地帯。真夏の炎天下、いつ崩れても不思議はない…しかし通り抜けずに先には進めない
The Fear of the Colossal Snow Valley of Mt. Eburisashi 1;
I tried to get to the top of Mt. Eburisashi through Tarunoki Mountain Stream.
The last half of the journey involved a series of caves that pierced through a gigantic snow valley, from which, under the midsummer sun, melted snow dripped. It would not have been surprising if it, at any moment, all came crumbling down. I had no other choice but to venture through these tunnels, with only hope but no knowledge of if there was a way out.

これまで水遊びに興じた淡水湖のうちいくつかを紹介します。
海も好きですが、深山幽谷の奥深く、清く静かに佇む湖の神秘に惹かれます。そして塩分を含み肌がヒリヒリべとべとしてしまう海水と違い、水浴後の爽快感がたまらない!(^^)


ボヒニ湖(スロベニア)…
　ロンドンに住んでいたころ、大陸へバスを乗り継ぎ野宿放浪の旅に出たことがありました。イタリアのトリエステまで飛びバス停で一泊、ボヒニ湖まで長期バスを乗り継ぎまたバス停で一泊…のつもりが警官に追い出され、それとなく湖畔で野宿するようほのめかされ、アルプスの冷たい山おろしに震えながら寝袋にくるまること三晩。マスがゆうゆうと泳ぎアルプスの山々を映し出すエメラルド色の澄みわたる湖面、幻想的な朝霧。
旅は続き、アドリア海沿岸を長距離バスでデュブロブニクまで行きました。水上の美しい城郭都市、コソボ内戦により破壊された伝統建築物とのコントラスト…
忘れがたい思い出になりました。

琵琶湖(滋賀県)…　
　これまで二度訪れました。
　
諏訪湖(長野県)…
　汚染が酷く水遊びは無理でした。

中禅寺湖(栃木県)…
　少年期。水浴中、巨大魚?と遭遇、びっくり。

猪苗代湖(福島県)…
　少年期。震災後どうなったんでしょう？翁島という無人島があるそうな。渡ってみたい。一夜明かしてみたい笑

大鳥池(山形県)…
　朝日連峰に抱かれた山上湖。幻の怪魚タキタロウ伝説で知られ、イワナ、ヒメマス、ウグイなどの魚類が生息。イワナとウグイしか釣れませんでした。以東岳が湖面に映える姿は絶景。泊まりがけで再挑戦したい。

　山上湖。

田沢湖(秋田県)…
　水深400m以上日本一、透明度日本第二。湖水浴場完備。国内湖水浴ではダントツ１位の素晴らしさ♪クニマスはいつ里帰りできるのでしょうか。生涯で見届けたいことのひとつです。

十和田湖(青森県)…
　八甲田から奥入瀬渓流沿いをドライブしてたどり着きました。ヒメマスの養殖はここで始まったとか。雄大！

蔵王(宮城県)のお釜。振子沢を登りつめて。
I climbed up through Furiko Mountain Stream to the top of Mt. Kumano, on top of which there is a lake called Okama on top of it.


焼石岳(岩手県)山頂近くの焼石沼。イワナとニジマスが生息。
Yakeishinuma Pond near the top of Mt. Yakeishi. There are Iwana(Char) and Rainbow Trout in the waters.

冬季、田沢湖(秋田県)外輪山最高地点の院内岳に登頂。もの好きはいるもので、藪山専門の登山グループにより山頂標識が整備されています。
Mt. Innai, Akita. It is amazing that even a mountain such as this has had a name plate installed on its peak, by a niche, fetish mountaineering group, who only specialise in climbing mountains with no trails.

大鳥池(山形県)。ヒメマス狙うも、敗退。
